Mission Statement

The Information Technology Department provides technical support for the City's Information Systems network by offering communication capabilities, appropriate hardware and software, and keep our information technology current.  We strive to provide solutions that are appropriate, timely, and delivered with the highest level of professionalism.

Purpose
 
The Information Technology Department offers applications covering many different functions.  Some of the applications used are as follows: GIS, Financials (Requisitions, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, General Receipts, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Revenue Collections, and Fixed Assets), Municipal Court Management, Public Safety, Human Resource Management, Library Catalog, AutoCAD, Fleet Management, Parks & Rec Management, Online Forms Processing, and the City's Website, Social Media, Public Information Channel (Channel 56 on CableOne), and Intranet.
  

 

The Information Technology Department offers City employees the following office products: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), e-mail, calendar management and document management.  Other software is distributed based on specialized needs of the individual's responsibilities.

The City IT Department currently supports:

 
  • Approximately 400 desktops PCs, 25 laptops/tablets, and more than 100 printer devices
  • Over 23 servers and extensive network equipment
  • Over 13 locations serviced and growing
  • Approximately 50 mobile laptop devices and 50 in-car video and body camera systems for the Police Department 
  • Wi-Fi services
  • Ardmore Public Library Computer Lab
  • Ardmore Public Library public computer and WiFi network
  • Cisco Phone System and City cell phones
  • Security devices for City Hall
  • Video Security at various sites.
  • Video conferencing
