  • We may, if required for position, require applicants to take a data entry exam consisting of a typing test, keyboard skills, and 10-key test upon return of application to Human Resources department.
  • The re-application process for civilian positions, in general, is open to anyone. However, certain positions that require testing (such as Communications Specialist) are on a case-by-case basis. If the applicant has already taken the exam and failed, the applicant is not allowed to take the test a second time, therefore, they are not allowed to re-apply.

Duties include, but are not limited to, operation and maintenance of equipment, working with distribution crews repairing/replacing water and sewer lines.  Position requires after normal business hours, on-call and work on appointed weekends.

To operate light construction and maintenance equipment in support of a variety of

maintenance activities involving landscaping, street repair, and water and wastewater line maintenance; perform loading, hauling, scraping, sweeping, mowing and related

operations; and to perform semi-skilled maintenance tasks.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED.  Two years performing maintenance work involving

the operation of moderate to light construction and maintenance equipment.

 

SPECIAL PREFERENCES

City of Ardmore Police Officer applicants must… 

  • Be a United States Citizen

“All who do not reside within the corporate city limits of Ardmore shall live no more than thirty (30) minutes average driving time from the Ardmore Police Department.

A City of Ardmore Application  is available in the Human Resources Department, and shall be returned to the same office or mailed to the address below. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and
1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. central time.

Positions will be posted for at least five (5) Oklahoma Workforce Commission working days and may be closed at any time thereafter. The Human Resources Department bulletin board is the official posting. A list of Posted Positions will be listed in The Daily Ardmoreite.  APPLICANTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO UNDERGO AND PASS A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE TEST IF A CONDITIONAL OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT IS EXTENDED. SELECTION GUIDELINES

Formal application, review of education and experience; job related tests, oral interview and reference check are samples of what may be required. The City of Ardmore may require applicants applying for a clerical position to take a typing, keyboard skills, Basic Occupational Literacy Test (BOLT) and 10-key test upon return of application to the Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Office or agents of the City may conduct this test.
