positions have there own specific application with supplemental forms
that will need to be completed Clerical positions may require skills
testing. If additional forms are required for a specific job, it will be
listed at the end of that job description.

If a closing date is noted,
applications must be received by
5:00 p.m. on the closing date indicated unless testing is required for
that position. All other positions will continue to be open until filled
and may be withdrawn at any time after five (5) days posting.

fully completed City of Ardmore application packet.

Applicants will be required to undergo
and pass a drug screening and WorkSTEPS® testing if a Conditional Offer
of Employment is extended. Positions that require a CDL will be required
to undergo DOT screening.

driver’s traffic record check, criminal history background, and
reference checks.

We may, if required for position,
require applicants to take a data entry exam consisting of a typing
test, keyboard skills, and 10-key test upon return of application to
Human Resources department.

The re-application process for
civilian positions, in general, is open to anyone. However, certain
positions that require testing (such as Communications Specialist) are
on a case-by-case basis. If the applicant has already taken the exam and
failed, the applicant is not allowed to take the test a second time,
therefore, they are not allowed to re-apply.

GENERAL
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
To
operate light construction and maintenance equipment in support of a variety
of
maintenance activities involving landscaping, street repair, and water and
wastewater line maintenance; perform loading, hauling, scraping, sweeping,
mowing and related
operations; and to perform semi-skilled maintenance tasks.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High
school diploma or GED. Two years performing maintenance work involving
the
operation of moderate to light construction and maintenance equipment.
SPECIAL
PREFERENCES
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid commercial

more than thirty (30) minutes average driving time from the Ardmore Police
Department.
Those
residing outside the corporate city limits of Ardmore who desire to live
further than thirty (30) minutes average driving time shall submit a written
request to the Chief of Police stating specific reasons for the policy
waiver.”

Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and
1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. central time.
Positions will be posted for at least five
(5) Oklahoma Workforce Commission working days and may be closed at any time
thereafter. The Human Resources Department bulletin board is the official
posting. A list of Posted Positions will be listed in The Daily Ardmoreite. APPLICANTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO
UNDERGO AND PASS A
CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE TEST IF A CONDITIONAL OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT IS EXTENDED. Applicants may undergo a motor vehicle report,
criminal history background, polygraph examination, and reference checks.
Upon a conditional job offer a drug screen, agility test, functional capacity
evaluation, psychological evaluation and medical screening will be conducted.
Some convictions or deferred adjudication may be considered a

possess a commercial drivers license (CDL)
are required to undergo alcohol and controlled substance testing which
include pre-employment (controlled substance only), post-accident, reasonable

SELECTION GUIDELINES

City of Ardmore
may require applicants applying for a clerical position to take a typing, keyboard
skills, Basic Occupational Literacy Test (BOLT) and 10-key test upon return
of application to the Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Office
or agents of the City may conduct this test. Applications are position specific. An applicant may apply for one position on a
single application form; any additional or new positions must have a new
application submitted.
