Stanley Avenue SW Reconstruction to begin Monday, October 24

road closing.jpg

Beginning Monday, October 24, the City of Ardmore plans to start reconstruction of pavement, curbs and gutters along Stanley from Sunset Drive to the west side of Commerce. The work will begin on the west end of Stanley and proceed to the east. This reconstruction will continue for at least the next 90 days.

Defective portions of the curbs and gutters and the entire pavement surface will be replaced. This involves demolition of the old pavement, removal of the debris, rebuilding of the base and paving. Some storm sewer work will also be performed. Excavation equipment and heavy trucks will be moving to and within the work area so residents are urged to exercise caution while driving or walking in the area.

Sections of Stanley will be closed as the repairs proceed but should not involve more than one block at a time. This will require thru traffic to be rerouted to the streets north and south of Stanley. Residents along Stanley will be inconvenienced but City crews working on the project will endeavor to adjust the work sequence to accommodate access to homes.
